The Obama administration’s latest target for health care cost control is Medicare hospital re-admissions. Nearly 20% of Medicare patients discharged from a hospital require re-hospitalization within 30 days, costing the government $17 billion per year.  …

The fundamental problem with the Obama administration approach is that it forces hospitals and doctors to place the government’s priorities ahead of their patients’ needs.
