Independence Institute believes transparency is for government and privacy is for people. We have worked tirelessly to protect the anonymity of our donors, going to court and battling legislation that threatens donor privacy. We are thrilled to report that on May 28, 2024 Governor Polis enacted Senate Bill 24-129, a bipartisan law that will protect donor anonymity for all Coloradans. Support for the bill included organizations from across the political spectrum–Independence Institute, American Civil Liberties Union, Americans for Prosperity, and Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains, just to name a few.
