Second Nomination for Californian of the Year: Jared Polis

Second Nomination for Californian of the Year: Jared Polis

Today we are proud to announce our second of five nominations for our 2017 “Californian of the Year” award. This award will go to the person who most exemplifies the drive and determination to change the character of Colorado into that of California.

Colorado Character means craving the freedom to make one’s own decisions. By working to turn Colorado into East California, our nominees promote the Californian value of demanding to make decisions for other people.

Our second nominee is gubernatorial hopeful, multi-millionaire, US Congressman Jared Polis.

While Jared’s nomination is hardly a surprise given his support of Obamacare, budget-busting initiatives like the spending mandate Amendment 23, and dressing up like ‘Mork from Ork,” our panel of judges were particularly impressed by his plan to have all of Colorado energy be renewable by 2040. Since the California legislature scuttled a plan to get their state to do it by 2045, five years later, Jared plans to out Cali Cali. A report by Energy Ventures Analysis pegs the cost of Polis’s “goal” at a mere $44.88 billion or $32,000 per family of four.

Of course, fellow gubernatorial hopeful and Californian wannabe Mike Johnston promotes the same goal, promising another fossil-fueled power plant will never be licensed. But Jared’s stylish two-stepping on just how he will meet his goal without actually mandating it, makes him a unicorn-chasing Californian we all can be proud of.

Please join me in congratulating Congressman Polis, the Rocky Mountain Tom Steyer who might be the only one in Colorado to afford the new electric bills coming, for his nomination as the 2017 Californian of the Year!

Stay tuned for tomorrow’s nomination, and the winner will be announce December 27th.

Think Freedom!
