Don’t think of it as Colorado turning into California. Think of it as Colorado turning into Berkeley, California.
Our new governor is from Boulder, the Berkeley of the Rockies. Our new attorney general was the Dean of the University of Colorado law school, in Boulder. The majority leader in the state senate, the speaker of the house and the house majority leader…all from Boulder.
With hard-edged progressives in charge of every aspect of Colorado state government you’ll never need to visit Boulder again. Boulder is going to be coming to you.
So, what do we do? Do we just hope that in some future election great liberty-loving candidates magically appear, magically win, and then more magically, keep their promises? There’s not enough magic in Disneyland for that to happen.
To stop Colorado from becoming Boulder, California we need to invest in more than just candidates. We need to build what we call a permanent Freedom Infrastructure. And that’s our mission here at Independence Institute. We’re not giving up on Colorado.
While the Left has the government-run education system, a friendly media, deep-pocketed ideologs and a governor who can spend tens of millions of dollars from his own piggy bank, we must ask good folks to invest in our mission. Towards that end we’ll be reminding you that Colorado Gives Day is a great opportunity to fund our fight. (And I apologize in advance for these email asks, but Tom Steyer hasn’t donated to us as much as we’d like this year.)
One of our dear friends at Integra Financial has kicked off our Colorado Gives Day effort in style. He will match dollar-for-dollar the first $10,000 raised. We would like to challenge you to wake up and set the torch of liberty on fire and keep it burning bright.
You can answer the challenge by giving now at www.coloradogivesday.org/independenceinstitute, you don’t have to wait. And, at the risk of sounding like one of those whinny NPR pledge drives, when you do we’ll be on our way to reaching our $85,000 campaign goal.
You can make your donation right now so that it will arrive on the “your buck goes further” day of Dec. 4. Here’s how: Go to the Independence Institute’s Colorado Gives Day page here
We can stop all of Colorado from having the politics of Boulder and Berkeley. But we can’t do it without you.
