Washington Post Highlights Benigno’s Reaction to DougCo Choice Program Ruling

April 25: Updated with link to new story

In a Washington Post article about the Colorado Court of Appeals ruling in favor of Douglas County’s Choice Scholarship Program, Associated Press writer Steven Paulson quoted the Education Policy Center director’s reaction to the welcome news:

Pam Benigno, who served on the State Board of Education’s implementation advisory committee for Colorado’s school voucher program, called it a victory for education.

“This decision vindicates the courage of the Douglas County school board and their constitutional authority to act on behalf of all students and families in their community,” said Benigno.

In addition, Benigno discussed the appeals court decision as the featured guest on Choice Media’s February 28 Ed Reform Minute. She also was quoted in a story by Media Trackers Colorado.

Senior policy analyst Ben DeGrow’s comments were included in coverage of the court decision by School Reform News editor Joy Pullmann, and for the online news service Instant Analysis.
