Over the past several decades, Career and Technical Education (CTE) has emerged as a robust avenue for promoting educational options for public school students ranging from those who would have been traditionally served by vocational education programs to college-bound students in high-demand fields. Because schools and districts have considerable autonomy when it comes to organizing their CTE programming, there is much variation across the state. An Overview of Colorado K-12 Career and Technical Education aims to provide an historical overview of CTE, highlights different Colorado public school models, and describes the state and federal funding sources available to Colorado public schools and districts.
