Get out of your house…

Get out of your house…

I get it. Thanks to the government putting us under house arrest for over a year, we’ve picked up some questionable habits. I have realized that pants are, and should always be, optional. It was nice having an excuse not to go to family events and personal hygiene is, well, a lot more subjective than we thought.

But c’mon. It’s time to put the Netflix remote down and see people in person again. To help ease you back into socializing with three-dimensional folk again, we are hosting a couple special events at Independence Institute next week that I want to remind you about.

And as always at Independence, pants are optional.

BLM: THE MAKING OF A NEW MARXIST REVOLUTION
Mike Gonzalez, Senior Fellow at The Heritage Foundation

Please RSVP to Hilleary@i2i.org

Join us as Mike Gonzalez, a Senior Fellow at The Heritage Foundation, discusses his new book, BLM: The Making of a New Marxist Revolution. The book examines who the BLM leaders are, delving into their backgrounds and exposing their agendas. The movement’s grip on institutions from the classroom to the ballpark required ideological commitment. That muscle and commitment were provided by the various Black Lives Matter organizations.

While Critical Race Theory (CRT) was already beginning to emerge within Colorado schools, the rise of BLM propelled CRT to an entire new level of influence. Liberty-minded people must have a solid understanding of the roots of CRT and its offspring.

Mike Gonzalez will empower you with the knowledge you need to know about these harmful movements.

CLE SEMINAR
Equity, Diversity, Inclusivity and Constitutional Litigation
Hosted by Shayne Madsen, Political Law Center Director

Please register HERE

The progressives who rule our state want to institutionalize their identity politics; and here’s a fine little example. In order for attorneys in Colorado to retain their license to practice, they have to earn a certain number of Continuing Legal Education (CLE) credits. Our overlords now require they take “diversity” training classes to satisfy the requirement.

Well, we at Independence value true diversity, that is diversity of thought and ideology. We don’t believe folks are what their skin color or genitals are, what they think their genitals should be, or who they have sex with. It’s just not how we identify people.

All the same, who doesn’t want to help lawyers stay in business (he says out of perpetual fear of being sued), so we’re offering our very own diversity CLE class next month in partnership with the Public Trust Institute, and at a fraction of the typical cost.

Event is open to non-lawyers as well.

Presenters will include:

  • Adam Lamparello: Georgia Constitutional Law Professor and author of EDI commentary discussing “The Flaws of Implicit Bias—and the Need for Empirical Research in Legal Scholarship.”
  • Justice Clint Bolick: Arizona Supreme Court Justice on “Recent Changes the Court has Made to Increase Access and Decrease Racial Bias in the Justice System.”
  • Dan Burrows: Legal Director of the Public Trust Institute, presenting on “Constitutional Litigation for Everyday Litigators.”
