ABOUT THE FASTER PROGRAM

FASTER stands for Faculty/Administrator Safety Training and Emergency Response.

FASTER training enables teachers, administrators and other school employees to stop school violence quickly and administer medical aid immediately. FASTER is not intended as a replacement for Police and EMTs. Instead, it enables on-site personnel to save lives through prompt action.

We are a non-profit that raises money to deliver the necessary training at no or low cost to teachers, administrators and other school employees that have approval from their School’s District and or Board.

FASTER Training Classes

FASTER Level-1

This 3-day training class tuition is $1,000. Scholarships are available for school staff members, upon request.

During the 3-day class, class members complete an active killer and Colorado use of force seminar, learn tactical emergency casualty care, participate in scenario-based training and simulator, learn advanced handgun basics, spend time on the range to work on marksmanship and tactical skills, and complete the Colorado POST qualification in handgun proficiency test. They will also receive a personal trauma kit to take back to school, church or home.

FASTER Level-2, Level-3, and Level-4

The 2-day FASTER Level 2, Level 3, and Level 4 class tuition is $600. Scholarships are available for school staff members, upon request.

FASTER Level-2

During the 2-day Level-2 class, class members will spend most of the time on the range working on intermediate handgun, marksmanship and tactical skills, and complete the Colorado POST qualification in handgun proficiency test. They will refine their tactical emergency casualty care throughout the training, exhibiting skills in live scenarios. Additionally, there will be scenario-based training with live scenarios and in the simulator.

They must have completed FASTER Level-1 and completed the Colorado POST qualification in handgun proficiency test at 100% to attend this class.

FASTER Level-3 and Level-4

During the 2-day Level-3 and Level-4 classes, class members will spend day-1 on the range working on intermediate to advanced handgun skills, marksmanship and tactical skills, and complete the Colorado POST qualification in handgun proficiency test. They will refine their tactical emergency casualty care throughout the training, exhibiting skills in live scenarios. On day 2, they will do scenario-based training with live scenarios at a school. The day will be spent doing scenarios in a school environment with a focus on close quarter tactics, priority of work, room clearing strategies, decision making and responsibilities, and mindset. There will also be time spent discussing School Active Shooter Policies and Procedures.

They must have completed FASTER Level-2 and completed the Colorado POST Qualification in Handgun Proficiency at 100% to attend Level-3 and must have completed and passed Level-3 to attend the level-4 class.

At FASTER Colorado, we never want the lack of budget in a school or district to keep a school staff member from this life-saving training. Partial scholarships may be available to other participants.

If you are chosen to participate, you will attend an intensive 3-day or 2-day class where you will learn many of the same skills and tactics used by law enforcement. Your instructors will include professional law enforcement personnel with extensive knowledge of active shooter situations, and other first responders. You will leave this class physically and mentally exhausted, but those who have participated agree that it is a wonderful experience and life changing class.
