Come Embrace Your Personal Freedoms

Join us as we joyfully thumb our nose at the nanny-state and enjoy the perks of adulthood, including drinking, smoking, and shooting; the same kind of fundamental rights the left works to take away from us every day. While not everyone who attends actually shoots our PETA-friendly clay pigeons, drinks, or smokes, they value the individual right to do so; they value the freedom our Founding Fathers afforded us; and they value the mission of Independence Institute.

The event includes:

  • PETA-friendly clay pigeons
  • Lunch
  • Libations and cigars with II favorites such as Jon Caldara and hero to the Second Amendment, David Kopel
  • 12 shotguns are available to rent, call Kiowa Creek Sporting Club at 303.644.4627 to reserve one for the day of the event

Featuring Michael Brown:

Michael started in politics at the age of six, thanks to his parents. He’s been a city councilman, ran for Congress and got his butt beat, became General Counsel at FEMA, later Deputy Director, then Director, and the first Under Secretary of Homeland Security for Emergency Preparedness & Response. He’s been inside the belly of the beast and found it surprisingly satisfying and simultaneously disgusting.

He’s a recovering lawyer and has represented murderers in capital cases, won and lost cases, sued the Oklahoma Supreme Court on behalf of farmers and ranchers, and has had dinner with Associate Justice Clarence Thomas. He’s been admired and despised by Hillary Clinton. He briefed the entire United States Senate after 9/11 and knows all the nooks and crannies in the White House and the U.S. Capitol. He knows where all the “undisclosed locations” are located, including his own.

Talkers Magazine has twice named him among the Top 100 Talk Shows in the United States and has twice been honored by the Colorado Broadcasters Association for best news/talk program. He started on KOA News Radio in 2006 doing a Saturday show for free. Fifteen years later he’s still on air, still having a blast, and is currently heard on 630 KHOW, Denver’s Talk Station, and KDFD, Freedom.
