Expect a rollicking good time and honest discussion of the future of freedom in Colorado, compliments of your host, Independence Institute President Jon Caldara, and other B-list celebrities. PRESENTERS

DAVID HARSANYI

David Harsanyi is a nationally syndicated columnist and senior editor at The Federalist. He is a former opinion columnist at The Denver Post. His writings on politics and culture have appeared in The Wall Street Journal, Weekly Standard, Washington Post, National Review, Reason, Christian Science Monitor, Jerusalem Post, The Globe and Mail, The Hill, Sports Illustrated Online, and other publications.

A libertarian, his column is nationally syndicated by Creators Syndicate. He is author of The People Have Spoken (and They Are Wrong): The Case Against Democracy, Obama’s Four Horsemen: The Disasters Unleashed by Obama’s Reelection and Nanny State: How Food Fascists, Teetotaling Do-Gooders, Priggish Moralists, and other Boneheaded Bureaucrats are Turning America into a Nation of Children. His next book, First Freedom: A Ride Through America’s Enduring History with the Gun, from the Revolution to Today, will be released later this year. David left his position writing op-eds for The Denver Post to work for TheBlaze.

STEVEN F. HAYWARD

Steven F. Hayward, is currently the Thomas Smith Distinguished Fellow at the John M. Ashbrook Center at Ashland University, where he directs the Ashbrook Center’s new program in political economy. Hayward writes daily on the popular PowerLineBlog.com, and frequently serves as a guest host for Bill Bennett’s national radio show “Morning in America” on the Salem Broadcasting Network. He writes frequently on a wide range of current topics, including environmentalism, law, economics, and public policy for publications including National Review, Reason, The Weekly Standard, and The American Spectator. His newspaper articles have appeared in The New York Times, Washington Post, The Wall Street Journal, and dozens of other daily newspapers. He is the author of Index of Leading Environmental Indicators, Almanac of Environmental Trends, The Age of Reagan: The Fall of the Old Liberal Order, 1964-1980, The Age of Reagan: The Conservative Counter-Revolution, 1980-1989, and many others.

Hayward received a Ph.D. in American studies and M.A. in government from Claremont Graduate School and a B.S. in business and administrative studies from Lewis and Clark College.
